19 December 2007 - The Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper today quoted an anonymous source from the Construction Quality Inspection Agency under the Ministry of Construction that experts are attempting to clearly assign responsibility to individuals and groups involved in this case.
On September 26, three scaffolding pillars and two spans of the Can Tho bridge suddenly collapsed, killing 54 and injuring 181 workers.
On October 2, General Pham Quy Ngo, Head of the Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security instructed Vinh Long Province’s Police Agency to investigate the tragedy.
On October 4, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung established a National Council to investigate the case.
